Purpose of the Role

Monitoring Technician provides support to on site monitoring teams. The role is varied and includes interaction with all team members and the public. The monitoring technician is responsible for assisting during installation of monitoring instrumentation, surveying and data collection.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Operations          

Assist in the delivery of contacts ensuring customer service, quality and Health and Safety are maintained to high standards.

Collection, processing and interpretation of monitoring survey data.

Assisting in the managing, recording and filing of data. 

Liaise with line manager and senior engineers to optimise site operations.

Be aware of safe working practice of site operations by implementing procedures to reduce / remove site and safety hazards.

Be aware of estimates and designs’ compliance with the organisations’ health & safety policies and initiatives.

 

Customer            

Understand and deliver the Client’s requirements under supervision of senior engineers.

People   

Liaison between team members and site supervisory staff.

Continuous Professional Development.

Finance 

Have an awareness of site costs and ensure such costs are managed effectively with your remit.

 

Experience/Skills/Qualifications/Personal Attributes

 

Minimum            

Ability work under pressure.

Good fault finding skills and presentation skills.

IT literate including MS Word and Excel.

Full UK driving licence.

CSCS Card Holder.

 

Desirable              

Previous Instrumentation & Monitoring experience

Basic StarNet, Leica GeoMos

London Underground Safety Training / Sentinel Card / PTS AC DC

 

Personal Attributes          

Enthusiasm to progress and motivated to start a recognised apprenticeship program. 

Good communication and team working skills.

Good time management.

Willingness to ask when in doubt or facing new situations.

Energetic and adaptable to fast paced environment.

Flexibility to carry out duties not part of the normal remit in the interests of the team.
